Did You Know the Merry Mixer Runs on CNG?
Did you know that Ozinga’s iconic Merry Mixer not only spreads joy and Christmas spirit to all, it’s also environmentally friendly?
It’s true—the Merry Mixer runs entirely on compressed natural gas (CNG). The Ozinga mixer truck, adorned with more than 32,000 programmable lights, is powered by a Cummins ISL-G engine that produces 20-30% less greenhouse gases than a diesel-powered vehicle. Natural gas ready mix trucks also produce less hydrocarbon, CO, and GHG emissions.
Our CNG fleet has the same fuel range as our diesel trucks, they’re quieter, and they’re easily fueled at night once the plant shuts down for the evening.

The Merry Mixer is a 2019 Kenworth T880 McNeilus Bridgemaster ready mix truck fitted with custom-fabricating speaker brackets mounted to the back fenders. More than 100 feet of speaker cable is used to connect four JBL outdoor speakers that deliver 250 watts of power each to blast 11 holiday favorites to the delight of onlookers.
The Merry Mixer and Ozinga’s entire fleet of CNG vehicles help create a more sustainable future for the hundreds of children who come out each year to witness the mixer’s holiday magic.
