Custom mix designs and building material solutions

Ozinga is your partner in finding the right solution for any project

Being highly durable and versatile, concrete has developed into one of the most important materials in the use of modern architecture and engineering. Within a structural design, concrete gives the flexibility to create structures that would otherwise not be possible. With a variety of uses, concrete is being utilized in nearly every type of design from commercial high rises to residential development, even underground hydro-electric plants

From a cost perspective in architectural design, concrete has proven to be cost-competitive when designed properly. Maintenance and cosmetic costs are also kept down by utilizing concrete in designs. With a variety of uses and unmatched strength, it’s no wonder concrete is the most abundant man-made material on earth.

By developing concrete mixes with less cement and more recycled materials, we have the ability to work with architects to find more sustainable solutions for building. Through the work of engineers in our certified research lab, we’ve had the ability to develop custom mix designs for projects needing to reach net-zero targets. These mix designs, as a part of our CarbonSense® product line, allow architects to build and design with concrete while still working to reduce the environmental impact of the project. Recent innovations like CarbonCure Technology allow architects to work toward sustainability goals. By utilizing sustainable materials and having like-minded partners, we are able to live out our purpose of leaving a positive impact on the communities where we live and work for generations.

“If we’re unhappy with concrete’s impact on atmospheric carbon levels we should do something about it. We are proud to have collaborated with Ozinga and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association on an ultra-low carbon concrete research project and are delighted that one of the outcomes has been their CarbonSense product line.”

“I have worked with Ozinga for a long time. They’ve been great at suggesting new technologies to us and letting us know where the industry and the market is—they (Ozinga) suggested CarbonCure, which turned out to be a great answer for McDonald’s.”
