Birdseye Gravel Overview
Previously sediment, these rocks were formed by algae that grew around snail shells, twigs, or other debris and eroded into ball structures with bird’s eye features. The building stone industry commonly refers to this limestone as “birdseye.”
Birdseye gravel can be used in a variety of recreational, environmental, municipal, industrial, commercial and decorative landscape projects. The most common usage includes decorative ground cover, walkways, planters, driveways, water wise landscaping, gardening, dog runs, erosion control, golf courses, aggregate roofing and exposed aggregate concrete.
