Rob Raffin, Co-owner of Raffin Construction, explains how his loyalty to Ozinga exceeds 70 years, from his father to his grandfather working with our past generations of owners. “We’ve had a long-term relationship with Ozinga because of the service and the quality they provide.”

Having a long-lasting relationship with Ozinga also means cultivating a friendship between customer Rob and his ready mix salesman, Andy Nevin.  Last year, Andy received a call from Rob asking if he’d be interested in helping out at Saint Isaac Jogues Preschool on Community Helper Day, a day when children get an up-close look at careers that benefit the community. Andy jumped at the opportunity. “I could be at my desk just doing my job or I could be stepping outside and doing outreach and building deeper relationships with my customer and the community,” said Andy.

Rob and Andy have since participated in the Community Helper Day twice in the last couple of years. Seeing the smiles on children’s faces makes the effort even more worthwhile. “Out of all the police cars and firetrucks, the ready-mix truck was the favorite,” said Andy.

“I think this is important for kids who don’t have family in the trades to be exposed to something different,” said Rob, whose niece and nephew attend the preschool. “Andy promotes the Ozinga Kids Club and the kids love it.”

Equipping our coworkers with the tools to make a positive impact on the community and having our customers’ trust is the cornerstone for maintaining long-lasting relationships, a key to Ozinga’s 91-year history.
