Ozinga Celebrates 95th Anniversary
Fourth-generation, family-owned construction materials company Ozinga celebrated our 95th year in business on March 2.
“We remain committed to our purpose to make a positive impact on individuals, their families and the community for generations,” said Ozinga CEO Marty Ozinga IV. “Our family has continuously stated throughout the decades that it’s our people who make the difference.”
Last weekend nearly 700 Ozinga coworkers from five states gathered at Joliet’s Rialto Square Theatre to kick-off the year-long celebration. The event highlighted our company’s continued evolution and looked ahead to innovative new projects, products and expanded growth.
Since 1928, Ozinga has been providing quality services for construction, materials, energy and logistics. Today, Ozinga is the leading integrated supplier and service provider in the Midwest, committed to providing safe and reliable services that exceed industry standards.
While expanding our service offerings, Ozinga has become a leader in sustainability, utilizing renewable energy sources and green building practices. Since 2020, we have been a recipient of the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
In addition to our service offerings and sustainable solutions, Ozinga also donates a minimum of 10% of our company’s pre-tax profits every year to dozens of nonprofits that do incredible work in local communities, including (but not limited to) Habitat for Humanity, Navarro Farms, Reclaim13, Project H.O.O.D., and more.
Throughout our legacy, Ozinga has also been honored with a variety of other awards, including the 2019 Dean’s Award from the Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards; multiple Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces Awards; and recognition from the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers for Environmental Excellence and Community Relations, respectively.
