Mason Sand Overview

Mason sand, also called masonry sand, is a fine sand that is smooth and clean. You may be wondering, what is mason sand made of? Mason sand is typically made from rock like granite, gneiss, limestone, or trap rock. These materials are crushed and then run through screens to sift out the largest pieces. The end result is either concrete sand or mason sand. Both are created using this same process, but mason sand is more pulverized. 

What is mason sand used for? The smaller grains make mason sand more common in projects that require a pleasing aesthetic. Mason sand is suitable for use on masonry work, volleyball courts, infill purposes, sandboxes, and beneath swimming pools. It can also be blended with our other sands for horse arena applications.
